A well-established, growing, comprehensive ophthalmology practice wishes to welcome to our team a board certified/board eligible ophthalmologist. The practice has a reputation for providing the highest quality medical and surgical care. The position will be primarily comprehensive ophthalmology, but there is opportunity to practice some subspecialty care if desired. This is a full time position with the intention of leading to partnership if so desired by the candidate. There is a very competitive base salary, plus incentive bonus and benefits. The practice has state of the art equipment, including a Heidelberg Retinal Tomographer, topographer, Lenstar, Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer, YAG and argon lasers, and Topcon touchscreen autorefractor. One of the ASCs used by the practice has a femtosecond laser. All of the technicians in the practice are excellent refractionists. Roseburg is a popular retirement community and has a large patient population for its size. Roseburg and its surrounding area have a population of about 150,000. On-call duties are shared equally by all the ophthalmologists in the community, and the rotation is currently 1 in 6 weeks for each doctor with very infrequent calls. Exquisite natural beauty and outdoor activities abound in Roseburg. Hiking, fishing, hunting, biking, running, tennis, skiing (alpine and cross-country) are readily available. We have an active theater community, many fine and performing arts activities for children and adults, and free concerts and movies in the parks. We are 1.5 hours drive from the beautiful Oregon coast, and 1-2 hours to cross country and downhill skiing. The larger communities of Eugene and Medford are an hour to the north and to the south. Roseburg has an excellent and rapidly growing wine industry. We have a superb community college that has an enology and vintner program. The public schools are top notch, and there are multiple private school options. You will not find a better community in which to raise a family or enjoy nature.
