JOB TITLE: Revenue Capture Specialist I LOCATION: Cross Valley Corporate Center DEPARTMENT: Revenue Capture WORK SCHEDULE: Days (M-F; 9:00AM – 5:30PM and 9:30AM – 6:00PM, no holidays and an occasional Sunday rotation) WORK TYPE: Full Time (1.0 FTE) JOB SUMMARY: Provides the necessary functions to capture all charges in a timely and appropriate manner. Audits and processes all inpatient and/or outpatient physician and hospital services provided in clinical or outreach facilities, as well as outreach services from other institutions. Reviews patient account records. Researches and captures charges and identifies omissions. Completes diagnosis and procedure coding activities based on predetermined policy, to ensure that services are submitted for payment to the patient and/or their insurance carrier in a manner which accurately optimizes reimbursement to support GHS operations and strategic initiatives.
Performs duties to support goals and objectives of Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. The ability to read and communicate effectively. Advanced computer and office equipment knowledge, including Windows-based programs (EMR experience a plus). Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. Ability to work individually, and as a member of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to be flexible with changing priorities, work volume, procedures, and variety of tasks. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Demonstrates the ability to work well in a team atmosphere fostering a positive, professional relationship with all staff across department and company lines. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience in professional and hospital billing systems, ICD-9/ICD-10 diagnosis coding, CPT procedure coding, basic mathematical calculations, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, etc.) preferred.
Previous data entry experience preferred.
Requires up to 6 months on the job training to learn all aspects of the position and maintain Revenue Capture benchmarks.
