Novant Health is seeking a transformational Vice President of Medical Staff Relations to provide the clinical expertise and leadership to improve hospital-wide services, quality outcomes, patient safety and consistency of care for 5 hospitals in their Charlotte, North Carolina market. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, the Vice President of Medical Staff Relations will champion the alignment of physician providers and the hospitals, fostering a culture of collaboration, engagement and commitment to world-class care. The Vice President of Medical Staff Relations serves as a liaison between the medical staff, administration, and hospital departments to drive quality, safety and the patient care experience. The Vice President Medical Affairs provides key support to achieve the highest level of quality, service, satisfaction and clinical outcomes and prepare the organization for healthcare reform through oversight and leadership of medical staff services including credentialing, privilege, medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, peer-review, and provider enrollment. The Vice President Medical Staff Relations will serve as a change agent and key role in performance excellence. S/he will be responsible for activities related to the organization’s Leapfrog status and CMS Star ratings, along with internal quality reports, providing support for patient safety and clinical improvements. Successful candidates will have proven and demonstrated success in a medical executive role within a hospital, preferably serving in a similar position within an integrated health system. A dynamic and collaborative leadership style with excellent organizational and communication skills, physician engagement, process improvement, programmatic development expertise and current board certification is required. A master’s degree is highly desirable.
