• Plans and manages patient care according to each patientâ™s needs.
• Interviews patients and records their medical history.
• Obtains patient vital signs and escorts patients to their rooms.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with AHMG policy and procedures and nursing standards. Documents medications/treatments/labs. Ensures that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately.
• Observes and records patientsâ™ conditions and reactions to medications and treatments.

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Current, valid Florida State Board of Nursing, Practical Nurse License
• Current, valid CPR certification
• Graduate of an Approved School of Practical/Vocational Nursing
• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements

The Float Licensed Practical Nurse (Float LPN), under the direction of the Senior Manager Float Pool, provides nursing care to patients within the LPN scope of practice outlines in the Nurse Practice Act and in the various practices to which they are assigned.  Assists physician during treatment and examination of patient and administers procedures and treatments as ordered by the physician.  Assists in patient education.  Maintains equipment, medications and work environment to the standards outlined in the FHMG Policy and Procedure manual.
