The dispatcher displaysanalytical and organizational skills necessary to receive, evaluate, process,and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance. Must be able to workeffectively inside a 24/7 police communications center, as part of a traineddispatch team. Utilizes effectivecommunications through police radio equipment, telephone, and computer typingskills to maintain efficient operations and respond to Police and Securitysituations as they arise. Exhibit technologicalcompetency to utilize complex telecommunications systems and equipment, alarmsystems, access control software, security surveillance video systems,surveillance cameras, intercoms, emergency call boxes, and Computer AidedDispatch (CAD)/ Report Management System (RMS) software. Receive, evaluate, prioritize,and dispatch appropriate personnel to emergency and non-emergency calls forassistance to Police and/or Security officers at all BSW Health campuslocations in the North Texas Region. Obtain all pertinent information tocomplete CAD entries and provide report numbers. Ability to work with civilianLaw Enforcement agencies throughout the DFW Metroplex when referring situationsor requesting their assistance. Monitor and document allMedical Air Operations to all Baylor Scott and White Health locations,notifying appropriate personnel of their arrival and departure. Ability to safeguard sensitiveand confidential information that is processed through the center daily. Assist patients and visitorsrequesting assistance entering or exiting parking facilities. Monitor and process calls fromnumerous telephone lines, intercoms, emergency call boxes, elevator emergencytelephones, and alarm systems from all North Texas locations. Monitor law enforcementcomputer communications, severe weather messages, and critical incidents in theNorth Texas region that could potentially impact campus safety. Ability to remain calm andfocused during high stress, law enforcement incidents and situations to ensurethe safety of responding Police, Security, and EMS personnel. Clearly and correctly provideSerious Incident notifications to leadership personnel within the Public SafetyDepartment and Baylor Scott and White Health. Ability to complete anintensive three month training program. Ability to work varied shiftsand durations (morning or evening; 8, 10, or 12 hours), including on-callduties. Ability to work extended timeduring inclement weather, serious incidents, or other emergencies requiringadditional assistance.
