Job SummaryWe are seeking a fulltime faculty member (M.D. or Ph.D.) with the ability to provide instruction in the area of pathology in the medical program at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine located at the Scranton PA campus. Candidates with experience in pathophysiology instruction, or who hold a degree in another related field with the ability to teach pathophysiology are also encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have experience in active learning (flipped classroom) or other evidence-based pedagogy and will be able to function in a team-teaching environment. Faculty professor positions are appointed at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level comporting with educational experience and scholarly activity. Candidates should have a record of instruction to health science and/or graduate students and demonstrated scholarly activity in education, basic science, clinical science, community, or outcomes research.Job DutiesThe candidate works with an interdisciplinary team of educators from other basic and clinical science disciplines, as well as clinical faculty, to enhance and implement an innovative and integrated curriculum. Faculty are expected to teach broadly across the curriculum and engage in scholarly research in areas of clinical and/or basic sciences, medical education, or community-oriented research. Additional duties include course or program administration and contributions to institutional and departmental governance and service. Work is typically performed in an office environment.
