Description POSITION SUMMARY: Assists patients, nurses and providers in patient care in the clinic setting. Greets patients, performs vital signs, and obtains history of chief complaint(s). Working within the clinic's scope of practice, completes limited procedures designated by the provider or nurse. Administers oral, IM, SQ, ID medications and utilizes the guidelines as specified by the medication management policies. Successful completion (by means of a certificate) of an accredited medical assistant program of study inclusive of the required skills. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Clinical Medical Assistant Certification and BLS required. SKILLS: OutstandingService Excellence skills to guarantee quality patient care and patientsatisfaction. Competent to obtain vital signs, PHI Strong organizational skills; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required; ability to work collaboratively with others; ability to work independently, asserts initiative on performance improvement opportunities. Ability to navigate through computer software by use of a mouse, keyboard or stylus and windows based software. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of in-patient or medical office experience, including direct patient contact, preferred.
