Roanoke, VA - Carilion Clinic seeks a visionary and collaborative pediatric leader with a strong clinical and academic foundation to serve as Chair, Department of Pediatrics and leader of Carilion Children's continuum of care. Carilion is recognized as a regional leader for comprehensive pediatric care providing integrated clinical programs and advancing education and scholarly activity. The Chair will have the opportunity to shape the growth of the comprehensive pediatric clinical care model to meet the needs of the community. This is an outstanding opportunity for a progressive physician leader to serve the children of Southwest Virginia. Carilion is a leading not–for–profit health care organization with over 1,000 inpatient beds in the System and nearly $2 billion in revenue. Through the integrated "clinic model," the organization offers a patient centered comprehensive network of hospitals, primary and specialty physician practices and other complementary services. The Carilion care teams provide quality care close to home for nearly one million Virginians. With an enduring commitment to the health of the region, they also seek to advance care through medical education and research via the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTC). Carilion offers the only children’s hospital in the region. The Children's hospital is a full service 92-bed hospital, pediatric level 1 trauma center, level III NICU and a pediatric intensive care unit. The Chair will oversee the Department and its clinical entities through effective leadership to advance the breadth and the depth of clinical programs. The Chair, in collaboration with with their dyad partner and Carilion senior leadership team, will strategize to foster innovative care delivery models, improve overall quality and access as well as elevate a connected family experience. We seek candidates with prior pediatric leadership experience, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills complementing a passion for excellence and achievement.
