RN Director for Jefferson Methodist Hospital

Jefferson Health in South Philadelphia is currently hiring a Nursing Director of Patient Care Services for Jefferson Methodist Hospital. Jefferson Methodist Hospital is a part of our Center City Division and only 2 miles south of the main hospital. The RN Director will report directly to the Divisional Chief Nursing Officer and will be responsible for all Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Intermediate, and Critical Care Units at Jefferson Methodist Hospital and will collaborate closely with Center City Division Vice Presidents for Emergency and Surgical Services. This role serves on the senior team for Jefferson Methodist Hospital and is the site leader for nursing services.

The Nursing Director of Patient Care Operations for Jefferson Methodist Hospital is a Registered Nurse who organizes, manages, and provides oversight for the financial, human, and other resources for nursing operations at Jefferson Methodist Hospital. The Nursing Director creates a collaborative and efficient work environment with a focus on quality standards and the provision of quality patient care.

An ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate a strong ability to work with a team, have an in-depth knowledge of the health care industry, and will have an excellent ability to lead and develop personnel. 

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the staffing and administration of patient care services throughout the organization.
• Supervise the caliber of treatment and quality of patient care. Committed to the development and implementation of innovative strategies to recruit and retain quality nursing and patient care personnel influenced by current market trends and environmental factors. 
• Maintain and promote effective communication within the department and other departments to meet organizational goals. 
• Take fiscal responsibility for patient care services by continually monitoring budget revenues and expenses, and labor analytic reports and takes action as needed
• Engage, motivate, and influence staff to be active participants in patient care and staff activities
• Lead strategic initiatives that promote growth and expansion of services in the Patient Care Department
• Interact with coworkers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of Jefferson Health.
