Senior Lab Technician

The Senior Research Technician will provide support to our research program, in strong collaboration with our postdoctoral fellows and other staff members, and a focus on the following tasks:

You Will:

• Establish and managelarge collections of patient-derived organoids, including:
  • tissue-culture work for the generation and expansion of organoid lines
  • curation of digital inventories and standard procedures
  • characterization of organoid lines using histological, molecular and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) approaches
  • storage and distribution of organoid lines for internal use and external collaborations
  • training of new laboratory members and external collaborators
• Manage key laboratory resources, including instruments, reagents and consumables, in coordination with research and administrative staff
• Support our research staff in the execution, analysis, and interpretation of experiments
• Assist our research staff in experiments involving animal models of cancer, including handling animals, injecting substances and collections of tissues, according to institutional guidelines and registered protocols
• Effectively communicate with our research and administrative staff during day-to-day operations, with a keen eye for unexpected findings. Actively participate in weekly lab meetings by presenting and discussing research activities. Report to the Principal Investigator about key tasks and overall goal.

  Requirements:

You have:

• Bachelor's in Biology or closely related major with 3+ years related experience, or Master's with at least 1 year of related experience.
• Strong background in tissue-culture and basic molecular biology techniques ( e.g ., qPCR, Western Blot, histology)
• Track record in accurate laboratory reporting and management of laboratory resources
• Track record as member of highly collaborative, multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
• Experience with animal work and stem cell or organoid cultures is desirable, though not essential.
