NP, Wound Care Team

ChristianaCare is recruiting for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Christiana Care Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center at Riverside Medical Arts Complex. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 8a to 4:30p. At the present time, no weekends or holiday, but subject to change in the future.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In consultation with the physician the APRN will provide direct patient care. The APRN will consult regarding the patient's condition, diagnosis, treatment plan and medication orders. The APRN will assist in the management of complex wounds including preparing the patient for procedures, procuring necessary equipment, irrigating the wound, sharp debridement of the wound, suturing and closing of the wound.
• Initiates referral to appropriate resources as needed to promote collaborative patient care.
• Prescribes medications as credentialed by The Joint Commission and the Delaware Board of Medical Practice.
• Write orders and documents in the medical record as indicated.
• Initiates requests for laboratory data and radiologic studies as needed and interprets results as related to treatment plan.
• Informs, counsels, and instructs individuals and families on specific health problems and test results.
• Prepares and maintains complete and accurate medical records and other documents in a timely manner.
• Serves as a liaison for the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center to CCHS facilities and other community venues as needed.
• Maintains all certifications and accreditations.
• Maintains position on CCHS skin integrity team.
• Serves as a resource to the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center staff.
• Provide educational in-service to staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist Program.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Delaware State RN and APRN license with board certification as Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current BLS certification.
• Be willing to obtain ACLS , HBOT, and WOCN certification.
