Job SummaryThe Healthcare Data Analyst IV uses extensive clinical data expertise, programming abilities, and critical thinking skills to deliver innovative solutions, and act as a strategic thought partner on a broad spectrum of research projects involving clinical data. Analysts work collaboratively with investigators in the design and development of high-quality data products that identify opportunities for disease prevention as well as improved patient outcomes. Responsible for providing technical and data leadership, oversight and mentorship to more junior data analysts regarding data content and quality for high visibility projects. Takes leadership role in development of code to deliver high quality products on time to consumers. Mentors junior staff by offering project feedback and code review. Leads efforts to determine goals, priorities, and decision making when working with research staff. Leads projects for both internal and external clients. Takes leadership role in efforts to assess, recommend, implement, troubleshoot, validate, and interpret results. Participates in project planning/budgeting activities and management of analytic resources. Experience in developing programs using large relational database models written in SQL and/or SAS required. Extensive experience in the area of health research or healthcare analytics using data from an electronic health record (preference for Epic's Clarity models) or health claims and expert understanding of clinical terminologies (e.g. ICD, CPT, HCPCS etc.) required. The candidate must also possess superb critical thinking and excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively working and communicating across cross-functional teams.Job Duties
