Medical Director for Population Health Quality Salary Range: $9,950.00 to $22,916.67 Monthly Final Filing Date: March 11, 2021 The Medical Director for Population Health Quality will work under the direction of the Chief of Population Health and Accountable Care to coordinate and align with Ambulatory Director and Clinics and Quality Department leadership teams. This will be an 80% management and 20% clinical role. The Medical Director for Population Health Quality is expected to provide visionary leadership in order to maximize the effectiveness of key population health quality initiatives, reaching performance outcomes, and supporting the team’s culture of alignment, innovation, efficiency, support, communication, and responsiveness. This position will initially focus on quality care gap closures across both community and academic practices to achieve these goals. The Medical Director for Population Health Quality will guide part-time clinical subject matter experts in their implementation efforts closing prioritized quality care gaps and co-chair the Ambulatory Quality Committee. They also will partner closely with the Director of Quality Initiatives and Population Health Reporting to promote reporting program performance, the Medical Director of Utilization and Plan Management in payer relations, and other key population health, department, and organization leaders. Experience in managed care will be beneficial in this role. This position may expand to lead some high-risk patient care pathway initiatives with the Chief of Population Health and Accountable Care. The incumbent will also participate in the planning, development and implementation of new population health workflows, performance tracking and monitoring of initiatives, and alignment with information technology that align with new programs and technological advancements under the supervision of the Chief of Population Health and Accountable Care. The incumbent will recommend changes in population health practices and using data to inform quality and operational improvement initiatives. This position will exercise initiative, originality and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems. The incumbent must also demonstrate extensive and effective leadership and communication skills, emotional intelligence, and professionalism dealing with personnel at all levels in the health system, UCDH campus and external entities. Ability to travel to clinics as needed in the on and off-campus Ambulatory Clinic areas. Required Qualifications
