Atlanta VA Health Care System is actively recruiting for a full time staff Physiatrist. This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC)/ (VISN 7), and Chief of Staff, Geriatric and Extended Care & Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service Line (PM&R). Major Duties and Responsibilities include: - Provide outpatient medical management of neuromuscular disorders, musculoskeletal trauma, acute and chronic pain, deformity or amputation, cardiac or pulmonary disease, or other disabling conditions. - Assess characteristics of patients' pain such as intensity, location, and duration using standardized clinical measures. - Examine patients to assess mobility, strength, communication, or cognition as this relates to their impairment and disability. - Diagnose or treat movement-related conditions such as mechanical or sports related or repetitive motion injuries. - Capable of performing pain management interventions such as joint/bursae injections, trigger point injections, nerve blocks, and other injections with and without ultrasound guidance. - Capable of performing a wide array of spinal procedures including epidural injections (transforaminal and intralaminar), selective nerve root blocks, facet injections, radiofrequency ablation procedures, and caudal injections. - Performing testing including nerve conduction studies and electromyography. - Monitor effectiveness of pain management interventions such as medications, neuro-stimulator devices, and spinal and other types of injections. - Consults with hospital physicians and primary physician regarding a patient's need for hospital admission or ER evaluation.- Maintains complete, timely and legible medical records.- Meets or exceeds productivity goals in regard to patient visits. - Participates in physician's QA program if requested and available Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:am - 4:30pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
