This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more This is an open continuous announcement; eligible candidates will be referred biweekly until the vacancy is filled. Recruiting and retaining well qualified Emergency Department (ED) physicians, recruiting and maintaining a pool of moonlighters to provide night/weekend and holiday coverage Scheduling staff to ensure adequate coverage, serving as ED liaison with hospital administration and medical staff Managing the relationship with relevant departments at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Centers academic affiliate, and fostering a vibrant teaching program for rotating residents and medical students Responsible for making sure the ED staff understands their patient care and administrative responsibilities Demonstrate leadership skills and a high degree of personal and professional skills, interpersonal relations, critical thinking, and problem solving and conflict resolution Supervises a variety of staff, who are aligned under the Emergency Department and works closely with staff who are aligned under other departments such as Nursing Work Schedule: Variable; Downtown Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: Not authorized
