Physician, Associate Medical Director Ambulance Services

Provide expert medical oversight and development of clinical activities associated with North Memorial Ambulance Service and Air Care as directed by EMS Medical director to achieve North Memorial Health’s goal of empowering our customers to achieve their best health—and commitment to look at healthcare differently.

• Collaborates with the Medical Directors in providing Medical Direction for North Memorial Ambulance Services as specified Minnesota Statue 144E.265
• Participates in the development of objectives for the education plans for clinical staff.
• Serves as a clinical mentor for all staff.
• Participates in curriculum development and oversight for the EMS Education Division,  
• Ambulance Divisions, Air Care Divisions, Community Paramedicine and other divisions ofEMS.
• Forms relationships with NMHC customers to improve NMHC Programs.
• Attends appropriate meetings with other North Memorial Departments and Community
• Partners to drive improved outcomes across the care continuum.
• Serves as a physician contact with various local, national regional, state, national medicalcommunities, various regulators and accrediting bodies regarding NMAS.
• Investigates and defuses conflict with other medical professionals that arise from real or perceived service quality issues as requested by the Ambulance Medical Directors.
• Networks with the local medical community to develop a sense of teamwork and cooperation.
• Assists the Ambulance Medical Directors in analyzing employee and business needs.
• Actively participates in regular staff, medical staff and management meetings as necessary.
• Assists the Ambulance Medical Directors in answering any questions that may arise from staff and managers
• Assure NMAS interests are articulated in forums (public and private) discussing pre-hospital health care.
• Acts as an ambassador to community leaders, MDs, RNs to improve pre-hospital care and make aware of NMMC services that are available.
• Online medical control and call.
• Supports and demonstrates commitment to the mission, values and assets of North Memorial Health Care.
• Provides clinically appropriate care via in-person, online and telemedicine settings to support EMS professionals in caring for customers. Participate in 24/7/365 day on-call coverage for ambulance services. Assists the Medical Directors in providing Medical Direction for North Memorial Ambulance as specified Minnesota Statue 144E.265
• Teaches appropriate portions of EMS related classes for EMS Education Department and the Ambulance Department.
• Attends meetings with Medical Directors to facilitate communication and coordinate assignments.
• Meets at least annually with the VP Medical Transportation and EMS Medical Director.
