How would you like to become a part of a team providing compassionate care to Veterans? Responsibilities to include Providing primary clinical treatment to patients of the James J. Peters VA Medical Center and associated CBOCs. The James J. Peters VA is an academic tertiary care center with inpatient medicine, surgery and ICU units as well as a nursing home and spinal cord unit. We are affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Vagelos School of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia. The facility also has its own internal medicine residency program. Requirement: Board-Certified Physician in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Additional Geriatrics Fellowship Board-Certification welcome Responsibilities: Provides the primary clinical treatment to patients of the James J. Peters VA Medical Center and associated CBOCs Provide longitudinal primary care for a stable panel of patients in the outpatient setting in a team-based approach including face-to-face, virtual and non-face-to-face coordination of care Provide appropriate preventative care to veterans with attention to quality measures to promote veteran quality of care Participate in team and facility quality improvement and coordination of care population-based interventions Orders appropriate diagnostic and screening testing and follow-up of results Participate in medical student and medical resident supervision in clinic with opportunities to participate in trainee quality improvement projects and didactic teaching Opportunity for faculty appointment at affiliated medical schools Provides a full range of primary care clinical services including assessment and using the most appropriate techniques in providing quality care in their specialty. Participates effectively in team meetings and treatment planning conferences and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members in a manner that enhances coordination of comprehensive patient care. Ensures that the practice of medicine is consistent with Joint Commission, CARF, VA policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, VISN standards, national statutes and regulations, medical record documentation, mandatory' continuing education, and HIPPA policies. Specific tasks are itemized in each provider's Credentialing and Privileging package Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM with occasional nights and weekends Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
