| Position Title: Genetic Data Integration Analyst Organization Overview The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics is an organization composed of biochemical, clinical, cytogenetic, medical, and molecular geneticists, genetic counselors, and other health care professionals committed to the practice of medical genetics. The ACMG was incorporated in 1991 to give national representation to providers of genetic services and their patients with genetic disorders and to speak for the emerging specialty of medical genetics in organizations and agencies concerned with medical service, certification, and regulatory issues. The ACMG provides education, resources, and a voice for the medical genetics profession and its' mission is to improve health through genetics. NBSTRN Overview ACMG operates the Newborn Screening Translational Research Network (NBSTRN). The NBSTRN facilitates ground-breaking research in newborn screening as an important part of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Hunter Kelly Newborn Screening Research Program. The NBSTRN began ten years ago as an effort to engage stakeholders across the NBS system and has matured into a dynamic and committed network of researchers, public health professionals and clinicians. Our team works with researchers who discover technologies to screen and diagnose disease, clinicians who study cutting-edge treatments and management strategies, state newborn screening programs who pilot new technologies and treatments, and policymakers who consider the ethical, legal, and social implications of NBS research. Working closely with the NBSTRN Scientific Strategy Manager, this role will be responsible for helping users access and utilize NBSTRN data tools through the development and deployment of online training modules designed for NBSTRN stakeholders including geneticists, clinicians, researchers, state NBS programs, families, and advocacy groups. The Genetic Data Integration Analyst consults with researchers writing funding proposals and will work closely with the NBSTRN Marketing Analyst to develop and conduct quarterly webinars and craft written material for the website to help increase the visibility of the NBSTRN user network. Knowledge in biological sciences in required and experience in genetics, genomics, genetic counseling, bioinformatics, public health, online education, and research preferred but not required.
