Palliative Medicine Physician
NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, located in the heart of Brooklyn, accommodates more than 518,076 outpatient visits, more than 141,328 emergency room visits, and with 627 beds, more than 25,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.
Provides inpatient consultation services in palliative care and support palliative care clinic
Facilitates clarification of patient and family goals of care
Consults with the attending physician and the interdisciplinary team to establish a written plan of care at intervals specified in the plan
Facilitates access to appropriate supportive care services
Educates staff and co-workers
Teaches medical students & residents
Participates in on-call coverage with the team
Graduate of an accredited medical school (MD/DO)
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice/Palliative Medicine
Unrestricted NYS medical licensure, or the ability to obtain one
We are currently seeking a Palliative Medicine Chief/Attending to join our team in an exciting full-time role where you will split your time 75% at Jacobi Medical Center and 25% at North Central Bronx. The Palliative Care Physician will work in collaboration with other interdisciplinary team members as an active part of the palliative care program to deliver palliative care and health care services to patients and families within an inpatient and/or outpatient setting. An ideal candidate will have experience building and administrating a Palliative Care Division, however less experienced candidates with potential will be considered for an attending role to be reevaluated for the division chief.
