Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, is seeking applicants for the position of Dean of the College of Health Sciences. The new dean serves as the chief academic and administrative leader for the College. The dean reports directly to the provost and senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and serves on the Provost’s Leadership Team and Dean’s Council. The Dean of the College of Health Sciences must demonstrate strategic and visionary leadership, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, entrepreneurial drive, and a commitment to the mission of the College and University. The dean must demonstrate commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, including professional development of students and faculty members, and be a strong and energetic advocate for the College and the University. The ideal candidate will have a record of responding effectively to the rapidly changing demands on colleges and higher education, and a passion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and social and racial justice. It is anticipated that the selected candidate will assume these responsibilities no later than July 1, 2022.
