Our Department of Family Medicine is comprised of leading divisions of residency education, medical student education, sports medicine, geriatrics, and research. We are actively expanding our geriatrics and maternal health programs, building additional rural residency programs, and preparing for the expansion of our medical school class with leadership from Family Medicine.

Positions available: Academic Physician, Geriatrics Physician, Medical Student Education Division Director, Geriatrics Division Director, Sports Medicine Physician, and Part-time Faculty Physician.
The Department of Family Medicine is one of the founding departments at East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine. ECU Physicians is the faculty practice plan for the Brody School of Medicine. We offer the region's most comprehensive care for every stage of life and are comprised of more than 500 physicians and advanced practitioners - across 37 specialties - throughout eastern North Carolina. The Department of Family Medicine at ECU is a nationally recognized leader in Family Medicine education. Located in a 120,000 sq. ft. facility, the department provides a wide variety of comprehensive primary care services for all age groups to include: geriatrics, sports medicine, procedural skills, obstetrical care, nutrition services, counseling, and psychological support in an integrated care model. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, providing services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties.
