Position Summary:

LEND Family Faculty will be administratively responsible to the LEND Project Director during the time allocated to the LEND Project. The Family Faculty is responsible for ensuring the inclusion of families and the family perspective in the program and assist in the development of curriculum pertaining to family-centered care. LEND Family Faculty will participate as a member of the LEND Interdisciplinary Training Committee (IDTC) in developing, implementing, reviewing and evaluating elements of the LEND Curriculum and for coordinating interdisciplinary and disciplinary training elements and their evaluation within the Family discipline. LEND Family Faculty also have specific, individual responsibilities described below.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Serve as chief representative of Family discipline in the LEND program.

• Define appropriate criteria for recruitment and selection of trainees in the Family discipline.
• Recruit family members as speakers at LEND sessions.
• Coordinate the Family Mentoring Project (FMP) including recruitment of family mentors, matching trainees with families, and monitoring trainee performance.
• Provide community presentations on family involvement within the LEND program.
• Provide feedback to clinical trainees using Family-Centered-Care Observation Feedback Tool
• Participate in family advocacy groups in the community and collaborate with other. community-based organizations and agencies on family training and support.
• Represent the Family discipline on internal program, policy, or committees.
• Engage in scholarship related to MCH populations, especially those with ASD/DD.
• Participate in LEND network workgroups on emerging areas in the field of ASD/DD.
• Serve as mentors to LEND long-term trainees.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

???Bachelor's degree

???3-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

-Parent/sibling of a child/adult with ASD/DD; Knowledge of community networks of families of children with ASD/DD
