The March of Dimes seeks a mission-oriented, dynamic and distinguished physician leader to serve as the Senior Vice President, Chief Medical & Health Officer (CMHO). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for an experienced and entrepreneurial leader with a demonstrated track record of developing programs and working collaboratively to make a transformational impact on improving maternal and infant health.
Since its founding, the March of Dimes has evolved and grown with a mission and plan to improve maternal and infant health with a heightened focus on addressing healthcare disparities in underrepresented communities. Each year, this organization actively supports, educates, advocates and funds research across a broad range of topics to protect the health of moms, babies and their families. Key to this organization's success is partnering with sponsors, scientific community and organizations to guide families through every stage of their pregnancy journey. March of Dimes offers programs, educational outreach and digital content to inform the public on health measures on a national scale.
In collaboration with the CEO and the senior team, the CMHO works to develop and implement strategies that ensure the March of Dimes has a meaningful impact on improving maternal and infant health overall, reducing health disparities and, working with others, attracting substantial revenue to the organization for their mission-related work. The CMHO will be externally facing and represent the organization in the media, public forums and community events to promote the March of Dimes brand, work and reputation. This leader will develop new affiliations with healthcare providers, government leaders, community partners, professional societies, as well as corporate and philanthropic partners.
The CMHO must embody the mission and represent the next chapter of achievement for the March of Dimes. They will be an innovator and dynamic leader who understands how to build and operationalize a strategy. The successful leader will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly based on a thorough and nuanced understanding of communication and political skills, as well as possess deep leadership experience in a complex and matrixed healthcare environment. They must possess a collaborative spirit that brings multiple constituents together to effectively leverage new products. The CMHO will demonstrate exceptional team building skills and bring a contemporary systems approach to problem solving and consensus building.
An MD or DO degree and completion in an ACGME approved residency program in a medical specialty related to maternal and infant health with current board certification is required. An advanced degree in healthcare management or a business related field is desired.
