Job Summary: • Provides outpatient medical care to pediatric patients from newborn to adolescence in a Rural Health Provider Shortage area
Responsibilities:
Evaluates and treats children for Well and Sick visits with appropriate medical, diagnostic and treatment skills.
Provides coverage to Newborn Nursey and attends to the needs of newborn babies delivered via cesarean section
Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost-effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
Shares 1:6 call with other pediatricians which includes Mommy calls, attending high risk deliveries, and consulting with ED for pediatric admissions
Complexity of Work:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Board Certified Physician MD/DO credentialed from the New York Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date.
