Job Description
Northwest Colorado’s premier private practice group is looking to expand their physician team. The Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI) is recruiting a Physiatrist to support its rapidly expanding spine practice in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The ideal candidate is Board certified with experience in non-operative spine care, imaging interpretation, performing EMGs, and interventional spine procedures.
The physiatrist will direct the non-operative program and complement the current SOSI interdisciplinary spine care team throughout the continuity of patient care. They will work with a variety of patients and assist them in restoring optimal physical function, refer to SOSI surgical specialists, when necessary, in helping patients improve their quality of life. The physiatrist should have expertise in therapeutic exercise, medications, and injections for management of pain; electrodiagnosis; and coordinate treatment(s) to help patients improve their physical, psychological, social, and vocational function.
SOSI is comprised of a diverse 9-physician subspecialty fellowship trained Orthopaedic team that includes Spine, Sports Medicine, Shoulder & Elbow, Hand & Wrist, Foot & Ankle, and Adult Reconstruction to provide exceptional outcomes and world class patient care. The practice offers a patient reported outcomes database, as well as exceptional relationships with the primary care physicians, referral sources, SOSI team members, and the community. The practice has MRI, an ambulatory surgery center, procedural suites, multiple outreach locations, and a broad catchment area across northwest Colorado and southern Wyoming including two ski destination resorts.
Steamboat Springs is known as “Ski Town USA” and is a community unto itself in Northwest Colorado with a thriving entrepreneurial economy, award winning school districts, a four-year community college and a growing community. Located less than 3 hours from Denver by car you are never far from the city and urban attractions; and a regional airport opens limitless destinations beyond. Year-round opportunities abound for outdoor recreation including game hunting, gold medal fishing, horseback riding, hiking, road & mountain biking.
Requirements
- Board Certified, or Board eligible, in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- Ability to direct non-operative interventional spine program
- Colorado State Medical license as required by the Colorado Medical Board.
- Excellent communicator who can empathize with patients and effectively collaborate with care team members.
