In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.

The Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) is the primary laboratory research arm of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. SKI was established in 1948 to establish laboratory research to promote progress against cancer. The Department of Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) Administration is a critical part of the infrastructure that supports and enhances SKI's outstanding scientific enterprise.
As the Project Coordinator on the SKI Administration team, you will build and maintain coordinated administrative procedures. Participate with Chairman of SKI program(s) in the planning and implementation of academic activities in the program(s). These activities include faculty recruitment and orientation, initial action relating to appointments and promotions of faculty for presentation to standing review committees in SKI and in the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, planning and managing seminar series, work-in-progress meetings, retreats, symposia and visiting professorships, and oversight of graduate school related data tracking and other support activities.
You will!
- Function on behalf of program chairman in dealings with program and other professional staff and administration, including direct contact with the Director of SKI, MH administration and staff, Deans of Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Cornell University, members of the Tri-Institutional Research Program and other senior executive officials of SKI.
- Coordinate all aspects of assigned projects relating to faculty recruitment and onboarding, meeting and seminar planning, appointments and promotions, etc.
- Administer procedures for faculty recruitment and act as a liaison between program chairmen and faculty recruits.
- Develop ads to be placed in scientific journals and on-line and provide administrative support for faculty searches while compiling status reports on applicants.
- Update and maintain recruitment records in a centralized RTA database, coordinate materials for presentation to Recruitment/Search Committee.
- Prepare material for review by standing review committees if appointment is recommended. Monitor expenses for program faculty recruitment.
- Act as a central source of information and a vetting ground for concerns that may arise from the faculty and trainees in the programs. Answer and assist program faculty and trainees with inquiries regarding institutional policies.
- Develop and maintain confidential profile on program professional staff. Initiate and make decisions regarding appropriate correspondence to professional staff and administration concerning Program issues.
- prepare materials for academic review at the programmatic level and assure timely completion.
- Provide administration for grants (e.g. training grants), maintain files of applicants and past and present trainees, monitor grant budget, prepare grant renewal applications and progress reports, interface with the Department of Research Administration and the Office of Sponsored Projects to assure that all requirements for grant are met. Communicate with Program Officer at the NIH for guidance, as needed.
You need:
- Bachelor's Degree with 4-7 years of experience in an administrative setting.
- Prefer candidates with experience using web-based applications, supporting academic programs or working in an academic or research environment.
- Project Management experience a plus.
Position is hybrid and requires onsite presence.
