Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading the Pharmacy Services clinical, educational and research strategies for Phoenix Children`s. As a leader within the department, this individual will be responsible for ensuring the practice of clinical pharmacy remains innovative and effective while meeting the needs of both our patients and colleagues. This role will work collaboratively with other clinical, education and research leaders of the organization to accomplish shared goals while ensuring proper resource allocation. The Director of Clinical Pharmacy, Education and Research will report directly to the Vice President Chief Pharmacy Officer.
Education
- Bachelors Degree (BS) or Doctoral Degree (Pharm.D) in Pharmacy. (Required)
- Completion of a post-graduate year 1 (PGY-1) and/or PGY-2 in pediatrics pharmacy residency program accredited by ASHP or similar experience. (Required)
- Masters Degree in Business or other related healthcare area. (Preferred)
Experience
- Five (5) years of progressive pharmacy practice experience and management within an acute care pediatric environment to include a minimum of two (2) years at a manager level or above. (Required)
- Extensive clinical experience in a hospital pharmacy practice with pediatric patient population experience. (Required)
- Previous involvement within an institutional Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee or other high-level multidisciplinary oversight or medical staff committee. (Required)
- Experience leading a clinical pharmacy research program within an academic medical center. (Preferred)
- Participation in the leading of an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency program. (Preferred)
Certifications
- Current licensure or eligible as a Pharmacist either by reciprocity or examination by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy (Required)
