MultiCare is seeking a full time (1.0 FTE) Case Management Medical Director. The Case Management Medical Director is responsible for planning clinical investigations of the resource utilization trends to include length of stay and discharge planning, for the MultiCare Healthcare system and individual hospitals. The Medical Director will function in collaboration with Case Management and Chief Medical Officers located at all MultiCare hospitals, providing leadership and overseeing the performance of resource utilization. This position will be seen as the physician expert for the laws and rules related to resource utilization and transition planning. This position of Medical Director, Case Management requires a physician with strong clinical and administrative skills and credentials. Work situations are varied, requiring analysis of information related to a variety of clinical, operational and strategic areas, the use of discretion and good judgment in decision-making, strong leadership, and organizational and managerial skills. This position works closely with the Case Management in a team approach to planning and operations. This position will work with data analytics to produce understanding of delays to care or excessive utilization to improve bed resources and reduce cost of care. Internal contacts are at all levels. External contacts include community providers, payors, regulatory agencies, and community agencies.
Education and/or Experience: Current active and unrestricted Licensed to practice medicine in Washington State Valid and unrestricted Federal/State registration to prescribe, dispense and administer controlled substances. Qualified as a "Provider" under Medicare and Medicaid Programs Board certified with a minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in Internal or Family Medicine Previous experience as a physician in a management role within in a health system environment Previous experience as a Physician Advisor in Case Management is preferred Experience in managed care contracting and familiarity with Medicare and managed care reimbursement policies Previous attendance at management education programs devoted to knowledge and skills appropriate for this position Graduate management degree preferredCertificates, Licenses, or Registrations:Must possess and maintain a current unrestricted Washington State medical license, as well as current federal DEA/NPI licenses, active Medicare provider status and ongoing Board Certification.For more information contact Shelly Loucks at shelly.loucks@multicare.org Position Type: Full-Time Regular
