City of Hope Medical Group Seeks a Physician Leader as Division Chief of Breast Surgery
City of Hope has launched a national search for a Division Chief of Breast Surgery who will provide leadership to our Division of Breast Surgery in clinical, research, and educational areas. The next Chief of the Division of Breast Surgery will be highly regarded physician with a collaborative, team-based leadership style, and the ability to leverage and grow our existing nationally recognized Breast Surgery Program. He/she must also be operationally savvy, with the business acumen and cultural sensitivity to lead within a complex, matrixed environment with direct reporting to the Chair of the Department of Surgery. The leader must possess a breadth of skills, including deep knowledge of clinical practice, a strong commitment to training and the career development of faculty and trainees, as well as demonstrated leadership and administrative ability.
There are specific priorities that City of Hope seeks from the Chief of Breast Surgery to deliver with an overall objective of continuing to elevate our Breast Surgery Program nationally. The following are of particular importance:
Provide vision and lead the Division of Breast Surgery in patient care delivery and research throughout the growing enterprise, further advancing our reputation and delivery of care on the national stage.
Expand and scale clinical trials and translational research to patients throughout City of Hope.
Drive and standardize care pathways, achieving superior quality, and continuing to deliver excellence in patient outcomes, patient experience and utilization metrics.
Expand our signature Breast Surgery Program by recruiting high caliber physicians thereby creating market differentiation and excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
National reputation as a physician in Breast Surgery
Outstanding clinician with an impeccable reputation and successful track record of high-quality clinical outcomes
Possess scholarly accomplishments to qualify at the rank of Associate or Professor at City of Hope
Deep understanding of quality programs, ADCC guidelines, utilization management, etc. with the ability to design and implement improvement programs having served on health system or academic medical center medical staff or departmental committees
Preferred previous leadership experience and/or progressive administrative/management experience in an academic medical center setting, NCI and/or national academy/society
Demonstrated ability leading highly trained physicians and multidisciplinary teams
Demonstrated ability to set and meet strategic goals
Preferred solid research background
High levels of integrity and honesty
Strong written and oral communication skills
Collaborative, adaptable, flexible to change and ability to lead teams through change
Exceptional interpersonal skills including relationship-building, communication, listening, and negotiation diplomacy

EDUCATION, LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
M.D. OR D.O. from an accredited educational institution and boarded in respective specialty
Preferably, fellowship trained and boarded in breast surgery
Required, board certified by the American Board of Surgery
Possession of, or eligibility for, unrestricted medical license in the State of California
Salary Range: $300K - $600K - The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.
