All About Women, Obstetrics and Gynecology in Gainesville, Florida is looking to hire a compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife for our growing practice.  We are a mid size medical practice with 4 physicians and 6 midwives.  One of our midwives is retiring at the end of the year.  We believe in a team based model in which our physicians and midwives work closely together on patient care both in the clinic as well as in the hospital.

The position requires 2 to 3 days of clinic time, one day of weekday call and one weekend in rotation with the other midwives.  Although OB centered, our midwives also see many patients for annual well woman care and gynecological issues. We have a robust benefits package including a 401K and profit sharing.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform gynecological exams
• Educate patients on health, nutrition, and family planning
• Perform tests to obtain information about patients' medical conditions
• Counsel expectant mothers on birthing plans, including hospital care, birthing centers, and other options
• Arrange prenatal planning and care for mothers
• Coach mother through the birthing process
• Perform deliveries and assist caesareans
• Assist surgeons and physicians in caring for the mother during complicated births
• Provide care for mothers and newborns after birth
• Monitor the patient's vital signs and heart rate during birth
• Study patient history and health assessments
• Communicate stages of birth to family members
• Explain and demonstrate breastfeeding techniques
• Monitor patient postpartum and be available for questions or concerns

Requirement include:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing and Midwifery and certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board; additional education and certification a plus
• Must be registered as a nurse in the state
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Compassionate and caring of patients
• Calm and cool-headed with a positive attitude
• Able to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and holidays
• Good leadership skills; able to mentor and educate
