Promotes and maintains the mental and social health of Geisinger clinical staff through counseling, education, and program development. Specializes in trauma informed care, burnout, and mitigation and management of behavioral health conditions. Oversees programs to support provider professionalism, mental well-being, and psychological safety. This role will report to the Center for Professionalism and Well-Being.
Job Duties
Counseling:
Engages with and counsels care providers that are experiencing emotional exhaustion, trauma, burnout, grief, loss, or other personal crises.
Creates a safe space for caregivers to share emotional challenges, and partners to create strategies for well-being improvement.
Makes referrals to additional long term behavioral health relationships that would best fit the needs of the learner.
Comfortable responding to urgent emotional crises as they arise.
Education:
Educates providers and clinical teams on how to identify and manage signs of burnout and moral distress in fellow caregivers.
Coaches individuals across the care continuum in professional behavior, positive interactions, and compassion.
Develops and delivers interactive team workshops on mental well-being content such as self-compassion and wholeheartedness, setting healthy boundaries, stress management, and overcoming moral distress.
Program Development:
Acts as enterprise leader in clinician burnout and professional behavior.
Collaborates with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across the enterprise to develop and implement innovative, evidence-based programs that address clinician well-being throughout the professional practice continuum.
Oversees the delivery of professionalism coaching and interventions.
