UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital seeks a dynamic and progressive physician executive to serve as the VP, Medical Affairs & Community Health. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, regional healthcare delivery system and have a significant impact in driving clinical excellence by transforming culture, revolutionizing the delivery of patient care and supporting strategic objectives, to be the premier community hospital in Norwich, New York and Chenango County. To avoid any confusion, United Health Services (UHS) is not part of Universal Health Services (also known as UHS).
UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, a member of United Health Services (UHS), is a 138-bed facility located in Norwich, New York. The hospital includes inpatient and outpatient surgical care units, a women's health center and a maternity and obstetrics unit. It also staffs an intensive care unit, general surgery, cardiology, diagnostic heart care center, orthopedics, diagnostic imagining and laboratory department, as well as a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency care department.
With primary accountability to the President and CEO, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, the VP, Medical Affairs & Community Health will be a key member of the executive team. This executive will be responsible for providing leadership for all matters related to medical affairs, physician leadership development and will work in partnership with quality and patient safety teams in advancing quality.
The VP, Medical Affairs & Community Health will have compassion for today's frontline healthcare providers. They will focus on creating a consistent best-in-class standard of care by developing and leading an integrated medical staff, achieving top performance in national patient safety, quality and patient experience measures, and establishing an enhanced culture of pride. They will assess current resources and approaches aimed at advancing the hospitals commitment to the UHS Chenango Medical Neighborhood Plan and being a High Reliability Organization (HRO).
The VP, Medical Affairs & Community Health role requires strong executive leadership, effective administrative skills and an enduring commitment to the delivery of high quality, cost-efficient care. He/She must be adept at enlisting others in change as well as communicating the clinical rationale and the benefit for patients to providers and the hospital in achieving these goals.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional relationship and team-building skills, as well as bring an innovative systems approach to problem solving, consensus building and advancing contemporary process improvement initiatives.
