Director Construction - Construction

SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the hospital's construction process for new facilities, renovations and space reallocation including: planning and implementing projects with consultants, staff and physicians. Develops accurate project budgets, coordinates preparation of construction documents, bid coordination and negotiating terms and monitoring expenditures against budget. Administers contracts with contractors/vendors. Maintains the Interim Life Safety Management Program. Responsible for project estimating, scheduling and billing. Ensures projects comply with appropriate authorities and that a complete set of the project closeout documents are procured. Responsible for developing/maintaining positive relationships with local and state authorities. Responsibilities will include supporting the management of the overall department and personnel.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's degree with a Master's degree preferred. HISP-A (Hospital Inspector Certification Class A) is preferred. Minimum seven (7) years progressively responsible and directly related work experience, including two (2) years of supervisory responsibility.

Extensive knowledge of architectural, engineering, and construction practices; familiarity with California and applicable building codes and regulations; and professional design experience to effectively direct and review the preparation of design and construction documents, review and approve contractor submittals, and to effectively resolve field problems during construction.

Understanding of construction management, scheduling and accounting related software.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization and gain their cooperation.

POSITION DETAILS: Full time exempt level position.

PAY RANGE: $70.26 - $88.14
