Montefiore Medical Center & Albert Einstein College of Medicine seek a physician with unique vision, enthusiasm, and experience to serve as Internal Medicine Program Director (Moses/Weiler campuses). The ideal candidate is an academic physician with expertise in medical education and experience in administration of a large and dynamic group of learners and faculty. The next Program Director will lead initiatives vital to the evolution of medical education, specific to our patient population, and foster a mission driven group of residents and faculty. The residency program director is responsible for program administration and operations, and for residents’ recruitment and selection; education in the context of patient care; supervision; assessment, promotion, and disciplinary actions; scholarly activity; and for the establishment of an effective learning climate at all teaching sites. Candidates report to the Department of Medicine Chair and must possess the qualities required to be a successful leader in a complex multidisciplinary environment, including working collaboratively across various divisions and effectively promoting the program within the institution, nationally and internationally. The position will include leadership, administrative, teaching and patient care responsibilities. The Program Director will lead a team of Associate Program Directors/Firm Leaders, Chief Residents, and Program Coordinator/Firm Assistants who support the residency education mission with special attention to learning milestones, patient care, patient safety and quality, and the community. The residency includes a Primary Care Social Internal Medicine Track. The Program Director collaborates with the greater Graduate Medical Education Community in the Department of Medicine and in the institution and serves as a mentor and guide for all residency and Chief Residency trainees fostering their education and career development. Montefiore/Einstein internal medicine residency program is one of the largest in New York state, with more than 150 categorical and preliminary house staff in training at any time.

Qualifications:
Medical Degree from an Accredited University
New York State Medical License (or eligible)
Board Certified in Internal Medicine
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Graduate Medical Education
Effective professional management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines.
Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, mentoring and teaching skills
A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
Ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner in person, on the phone and in writing.
Ability to build and lead high-performing teams; must be able to provide clear and accurate direction and guidance.

In addition to a competitive base salary of $200,000-$250,000, we offer the opportunity to supplement income through productivity incentives. LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) are also offered.
