The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Virginia is seeking open rank faculty candidates in the subspecialties of Sarcoma-Melanoma, Thoracic, Classical Hematology, Lymphoma, and Cell Therapy/Stem Cell Transplant focused on clinical care and clinical Investigation.
The Division of Hematology and Oncology is an expanding team of more than 40 physicians and physician-scientists with a vibrant clinical research portfolio. The successful candidate would be a member of the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center, a designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Virginia. The successful candidate will look to further current scholarly achievements through clinical and translational research opportunities. Translational collaborations within the Cancer center are encouraged. Participation in student, resident, and fellow teaching is required and opportunities are abundant.
The Sarcoma-Melanoma candidate should have experience in the care of both Sarcoma and Melanoma patients.
The Thoracic Oncology candidate should have experience in the management of thoracic neoplasms.
The Classical Hematology candidate should have expertise in caring for patients with a vast array of hematologic conditions, including disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis, anemias, platelets disorders, bone marrow failure syndromes, myeloproliferative disorders, and other rare hematologic diseases.
The Lymphoma and CLL candidate should have experience in the care of Lymphoma and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
Expertise in the care of patients with malignant disease with an emphasis on BoneMarrow/Stem Cell transplantation and Cellular Therapies is required for the Stem Cell Transplant/Cellular Therapy position.
All teams are comprised of a collaborative group of physicians, nurses, advanced practitioners, and research coordinators with the goal to care for patients with these disorders through excellent clinical care and a robust clinical research program.
The candidates must be board certified/eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology. Board certification in Internal Medicine is encouraged. Rank and compensation are contingent upon qualifications and expertise.
