The University of North Carolina Charlotte invites applications and nominations for the Dean W. Colvard Distinguished Professor in the College of Health and Human Services. We seek a well-rounded scholar who has demonstrated excellence in leadership, collaboration, teaching, and impactful interprofessional research. This is a nine-month position with competitive salary and benefits with an earliest start date of August 15, 2024.
Qualifications
The Colvard Professor will have a strong track record of securing external funding and publications, developing interprofessional curriculum; engaging community-academic and interdisciplinary stakeholders; successfully mentoring for junior faculty and graduate students; effective teaching and curriculum development; developing, implementing, and advancing strategic initiatives; using data to effectively develop, implement and improve programs/initiative; leading interprofessional collaborations; successfully managing organizational and/or administrative change; and practicing excellent communication, relationship-building, and creative problem-solving skills. The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in and eligibility for appointment at the rank of either Associate Professor or Professor with tenure in any of the academic units within the College of Health and Human Services.
The College of Health & Human Services (CHHS) offers a wide range of graduate and undergraduate degree and certificate programs to prepare graduates to pursue advanced degrees, and for a variety of practice, research and administrative roles in the health and human services fields. Our high quality, innovative educational programs include opportunities to study abroad and for distance education. Academic units include the Department of AppliedPhysiology, Health, and Clinical Sciences, Department of Public Health Sciences, School of SocialWork, School of Nursing, and the interdisciplinary School of Data Science. An interdisciplinary Gerontology program offers both undergraduate and graduate degree options. The college is currently in exploration to become an accredited School of Public Health. Approximately 4,400 students annually, with around 3,900 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students are enrolled in our programs. The college has over 200 faculty members who are actively engaged in research and scholarship, and who bring real-world experience to their teaching.
