Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an enthusiastic board certified/board eligible trauma surgeon with added qualifications in surgical critical care who has exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills to join our Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono in beautiful East Stroudsburg, PA.
Practice Overview:
- High functioning Level III trauma center that is now pursuing Level II accreditation.
- Approximately 1700 + trauma patient contacts last year with over 600 trauma admissions.
- A robust emergency general experience
- Ample opportunity to develop an elective general surgery practice.
- State of the art wound healing center which includes two new hyperbaric chambers
- Time will be split among:
- Rounding on the inpatient trauma, emergency and elective surgical patients both on the floor and in the ICU.
- Outpatient office setting for evaluation of new elective general surgery patients and follow-up for established patients.
- Respond to trauma activations and emergency general surgery patients when on-call
- Call approximately 1:5
Job Qualifications:
- Must be Board Eligible or Certified by American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery with added qualifications in surgical critical care.
- A valid PA Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
- Current ATLS certification (instructor status preferred)
