The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full time, academic surgeon with an exemplary record of patient care and expertise in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible. Applicants must have completed or will complete by the time of hire a microsurgical fellowship with extensive experience in microsurgical breast reconstruction. Applicants' materials must list current, eligible, and/or pending qualifications upon submission.
Primary clinical responsibilities will be in breast reconstruction and microsurgery for cancer reconstruction (breast and other), as well as general reconstructive surgery. 1-2 days per week will be spent at satellite surgical centers within ½ hour of the Mission Bay campus.
Research productivity is expected and protected time for research will be provided. The candidate should have a proven track record in clinical discovery and health services research with publications in these areas.
Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency training and educational programs.
