OptumCare, the largest network of medical groups in the nation, is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Part Time Physician Medical Director to join our corporate care team in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As a Medical Director and Primary Care Provider, you will be afforded an opportunity to practice whole person primary care without many of the constraints of a traditional community practice.At Optum, we are transforming healthcare nationally while providing dedicated health care delivery locally.This position is a combination of direct patient care and administrative time for a total of 20 hours/week.The onsite clinic is open M-F, 7 am – 4 pm.
Position Highlights and Key Responsibilities
Clinical oversight of all the medical care delivered at the onsite clinic and the quality of the services rendered.
Supervision of Advance Practice Clinicians at the clinic
Cultivate a positive and efficient working environment, fostering a culture of excellence and compassion!
Deliver the highest quality primary care services including:
Wellness and Preventative Physical Exams
Acute care of minor illness and injuries
Chronic Disease Management and Longitudinal care
Minor procedures (suturing, splinting, incision/drainage, etc.)
Lifestyle and well-being counseling
Medical management of behavioral health conditions
Telemedicine services
Collaborate with a care team of certified nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and medical assistants.

Required Qualifications:
Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Active, unrestricted medical license in Tennessee
Active, unrestricted DEA in Tennessee
Valid prescriptive authority (per State practice requirements)
Knowledge of occupational medicine and Worker’s Compensation Laws
Current certification in BLS
Working knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA, and State/Federal laws governing medical services
Administrative, management, or supervisory experience
Exceptional leadership, mediation abilities, and multi-tasking skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Email, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and SmartSheet.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and knowledge base in medical weight loss and obesity medicine
