Newark, New Jersey - Rutgers Health, New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) is seeking a nationally recognized physician executive to serve as the Chair of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Health. This Chair will be an exceptional academic leader with a substantial record of clinical, research, teaching, and administrative achievements to lead the Department into the future. This is an outstanding position for an inspirational leader well versed in the academic missions to serve within a mission-driven department and organization.
With over twenty primary faculty members, who receive support from more than forty affiliate faculty members, the Department provides services in all subspecialty aspects of OB/GYN care including General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and Gynecologic Oncology. The Department is also on the forefront of innovative and novel approaches to clinical and translational research, including providing innovative medicines and treatments to patients.

Reporting to Dean Robert L. Johnson, MD, FAAP, the new Chair will provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the department. They will strive to strengthen the academic mission and clinical excellence of the department with recruitment, retention, development, and support of outstanding clinical and research faculty and staff.
The ideal candidate will be a leader with a strong commitment to enhancing patient-centered care, teaching, research, and community partnership. They will have experience leading a strong, academic OB/GYN department, focused on ensuring the highest quality and safe clinical care, and adhering to evidence based best practice. They will exhibit a collaborative leadership style and possess extensive experience in navigating complex hospital and academic environments, including experience overseeing a busy clinical service line. An M.D., D.O., or equivalent medical degree, board certification in obstetrics & gynecology, eligibility for medical licensure in New Jersey, and credentials for an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at New Jersey Medical School are essential requirements.
