Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Transplant Hepatologist in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition, Section of Hepatology. The selected individual will join a section of eight clinical faculty to cover outpatient and inpatients needs for the Transplant Service Line. The position will render care to Hepatology patients at the Rush main campus and regional sites for the Rush Solid Organ Transplant program.
Rush was one of the first ten liver transplant centers in the United States, starting in the 1980s. Nearly 2,000 patients have received a liver transplant during the program's 35-year history. Today, the program consists of a large multidisciplinary team which works closely together to maintain exceptional patient care and excellent quality outcomes.
Qualified candidates must possess a strong commitment to patient care, resident education, and research. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in both transplant hepatology as well as gastroenterology and be eligible for faculty appointment at the assistant professor level or above. The ideal candidate will have experience in an academic medical center. Candidates should have experience in clinical hepatology and liver transplantation. An interest or experience in alcohol use disease order is also desirable.
