The Medical Oncology Department at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) Department of Medicine is seeking a distinguished medical oncologist (MD or MD/PhD) with an international reputation in thoracic oncology.
Successful candidates will be recognized international experts in the development of targeted therapies for molecularly defined subsets of lung cancers, with a track record of development and execution of clinical treatment trials and translational correlative studies, and extensive familiarity with pre-clinical proof of concept testing and clinical trials designs. Applicants are expected to have extensive experience in creating collaborations in clinic and clinical research, including multidisciplinary partnerships in patient care, as well as partnerships with leading academic centers, laboratory investigators, and with pharmaceutical and biotechnology enterprises engaged in oncology research. Experience with Federal regulatory processes for oncology drug approval is strongly desired.
Responsibilities will include clinical work in the thoracic oncology ambulatory program. The individual will additionally be a critical investigator and mentor in the lung cancer program and at Dana-Farber, supporting innovation in drug discovery and collaborations with pharma and biotech. Candidates should have a track record of mentorship demonstrating successful support for career development among early-career faculty at their home institutions. Candidates must be board certified in medical oncology. The individual must also have a thoughtful focus on educational opportunities and community interests.
The position is based in both the Department of Medical Oncology at DFCI and the Department of Medicine at the BWH and includes close collaboration with other institutions affiliated with the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and Harvard Medical School. Applicants should have an MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree(s), and are expected to have academic accomplishments for appointment as a full Professor of Medicine at HMS.
