Southwest Midwives is a private, midwife-owned practice in beautiful Southwest Colorado. We attend births at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, including waterbirth and VBACs. The right candidate will feel comfortable in a rural setting (no 24-hour in house anesthesia or OBGYN), have excellent time management and communication skills, and work well as part of a small team. Experienced midwives preferred, but we would consider a new graduate for a fellowship position.

Overview

• Join our group of three full time and two part time midwives delivering between 200-250 clients annually.
• Opportunity to care for women through full scope of practice providing evidence based care and informed decision making to both low and moderate risk pregnancies.
• First assist training upon hire.
• Supportive environment with other experienced midwives and strong collaborative relationship with our OBGYN group.
• Rotating call schedule with great work-life balance. Typical schedule involves 2, 24 hour call/clinic days per week plus one weekend per month. Example schedule can be provided. Call can be taken from home when there are no active labor patients at the Family Birth Center.
• Proudly serving individualized care to a range of clients from various socioeconomic, racial, religious and family backgrounds in a rural hospital setting.

• Base salary beginning at $75,000 depending on experience.
• Quarterly bonuses based on joint practice productivity (no RVUS) and overall performance.

Requirements

• MSN in Midwifery
• Certified as CNM by AMCB
• Active RN and APN license in the state of Colorado
• Ability to be added to the practice's current malpractice policy
