The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine is recruiting 2-3 full-time faculty members at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in either the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) clinician/educator track or the Clinical X (Clin X) clinician/researcher track. These positions offer an exceptional opportunity to join a nationally recognized department committed to excellence in clinical care, education, research, and community engagement
UC Davis Emergency Medicine provides comprehensive emergency services to a large urban and referral population as a Level One Trauma Center, paramedic base station, and regional training center. The department has a fully accredited residency training program, established in 1990, that now includes 60 residents, as well as 11 fellowship programs spanning a wide range of subspecialties. All faculty members contribute meaningfully to both bedside and didactic teaching for residents, medical students, and rotating trainees. The department consistently ranks among the top 20 nationally in NIH funding and is a member of the federally funded SIREN (adult) and PECARN (pediatric) emergency care research networks. Faculty benefit from a robust research infrastructure and an academic environment that prioritizes discovery, innovation, and the implementation of new knowledge into clinical practice.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical excellence, scholarship, and education. Responsibilities include providing outstanding clinical care, engaging in teaching and mentoring at multiple levels of training, and contributing to the academic mission of the department through research or educational innovation, depending on series. Candidates should also demonstrate dedication to mentoring a diverse student body, expanding opportunities, and enhancing academic success and retention.
