The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, in Fayetteville, AR, is seeking a full-time, board certified/board eligible, Intensivist. We are fully committed to providing top quality medical care by serving and honoring America’s Veterans.
The staff intensivist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
- Responsible for the care of critically ill patients to include, but not limited to patient assessment, management, treatment, and airway management/ventilator management. Provide management of life-threatening illness and organ failure.
- Manage patients efficiently with attention to length of stay and care transitions.
- Champion inpatient initiatives to improve overall quality, safety, and patient experience.
- Performs academic bedside rounds with strong interest in medical resident supervision and evaluation.
- Perform daily ICU rounds, coordinating patient care.
- U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
