Yale Cancer Center invites applications for physician-scientists and basic scientists in cancer biology for appointment at the Assistant Professor level or beyond (commensurate with experience).Applicants should have an exceptional track record of scientific innovation, and a track record of securing extramural funding would be viewed favorably. We seek candidates with laboratory-based research programs focused on understanding key mechanisms in cancer biology and translating this understanding into novel therapeutic and diagnostic approaches. New faculty will be supported with competitive start-up packages and generous laboratory space, plus access to laboratory animal facilities and a wide range of state-of-the-art core facilities. Successful candidates are expected to initiate and maintain vigorous, independent, extramurally funded research programs, to participate in the Cancer Center’s interdisciplinary oncology research programs, and to contribute to training medical and graduate students as well as postdoctoral and clinical fellows. Yale Cancer Center is dedicated to the development and advancement of biomedical research to eliminate cancer and provides a unique environment for conducting innovative basic, translational, population, and clinical research. Successful candidates will be full members of either the Center for Molecular & Cellular Oncology (primarily for physician-scientists) or the Yale Cancer Biology Institute (primarily for basic scientists) and if they have clinical activities, will also join one of the clinical divisions of Yale Cancer Center. Basic scientists will have an appointment in one of the basic science departments in the School of Medicine.
