RN Program Director, Spinal Cord Injury (Magee Rehabilitation)
The Program Director for Spinal Cord Injury Programs will be responsible and accountable for the vision, strategic planning, and overall marketability of the SCI system of care. Responsibilities include program development to maintain state of the art service and to monitor and evaluate the program for improvements in satisfaction and other measurements. The director will assure the program adheres to the requirements of a model system of care and lead various research activities related to the spinal cord population.
The Program Director will assure compliance with changing regulations or standards from Joint Commission (JC) and Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) as well as with business planning to maintain a sound financial base and source of referrals for the program in the context of the changing marketplace. The Program Director will uphold the mission, vision and values of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital - Jefferson Health.
Strategic Program Direction
Provides leadership to the program team to achieve program objectives including but not limited to census goals, education opportunities, out reach and patient outcomes.
Overall responsibility for program specific standards of care, collaborating with appropriate disciplines to establish and monitor adherence to program and organizational policies.
Responsible for the coordination of all SCI care both internally within Magee and with other external organizations.
Provide appropriate research and education modules to both staff within Magee, outside institutions and the community in regards to spinal cord injury care.
Serves as part of the leadership team for the overall planning, implementation and management of the Magee organization and for implementing the policies, services, guidelines and business and budgeting objectives established by the Magee Board of Directors.
Stays abreast of political, social and economic issues, evaluates their potential impact on Magee and undertakes and/or advises/counsels others on appropriate courses of action.
Assists Divisional/Enterprise Marketing Department in the development and marketing of professional and community educational programs.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of State and Federal Regulations. Provides needed information and documentation to Administration and Magee staff and prepares for JCAHO and CARF accreditation.
Responsible for fiscal planning of all programs under responsibility.
Builds operational capability through innovation and improvement.

Creates a work environment conducive to successful attainment of both organizational and professional goals and objectives.
Primary Customers/Key Working Relationships:
Patients and their significant others, all internal team members, external case managers and other stakeholders and administration.
Demonstrates excellent skills including, communication, leadership, judgment, decision making, assertiveness, solid business acumen and interpersonal relations.
Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in nursing OR current enrollment.
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a experience in a rehabilitation discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of progressive management skills.
Some experience representing SCI on either regional, state, national or international arenas.
