The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a motivated Staff Research Associate to support clinical and behavioral research studies. In this role, you will approach and recruit patients for participation, conduct screening interviews both in person and remotely, obtain informed consent, administer structured diagnostic assessments, and assist participants in completing study questionnaires. You will also support IRB submissions and manuscript preparation, contributing to the overall progress of ongoing research projects.
Additional responsibilities include entering, cleaning, and managing research data, organizing study materials, and assisting with data analysis. You will help maintain accurate documentation, support manuscript development, and coordinate online submissions. This position is ideal for someone detail‑oriented, motivated, and interested in gaining hands‑on experience in clinical research, psychology, or mental health studies.
Hourly range: $28.69-$34.21
Required:
- Ability to coordinate data collection and data entry for research studies.
- Ability to interact appropriately and congenially with all staff, faculty, students, patients and the public at all times.
- Ability to schedule patient and administrative appointments accurately.
- Skill at prioritizing assignments and ability to work concurrently on several projects.
- Ability to function effectively with several interruptions.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks with minimal direction
- High level ability in the use of a PC using all Windows applications.
- Ability to enter data and manage research data base.
- Ability in the use of SPSS.
- Skill in maintaining organized filing systems.
- Skill in editing reports, correspondence, manuals, etc., for grammar and punctuation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in the strictest sense.
- Skill in maintaining accurate timekeeping.
- Familiarity with child and adolescent psychiatric disorders
- B.A. or B.S. in Psychology or related field preferred
