Description
The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for a clinical faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/or Full Professor level, with subspecialty focus in multiple myeloma and plasma cell dyscrasia as a clinician/investigator. Clinical track, rank, and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications.
The successful candidate will strengthen the clinical and clinical research efforts in these disorders utilizing the excellent translational research opportunities and resources available at the University and UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center. Additionally, the incumbent will attend inpatient and outpatient services and participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the Cancer Center, for a growing number of patients with multiple myeloma. As an integral part of the educational mission, the incumbent will actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students. This faculty position is designed for physicians focused on a career of clinical investigation and the provision of outstanding clinical care including active participation in our educational mission.
This position will remain open until filled. This is an Exempt-level, benefited position.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a MD or equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology by appointment start date. Dual certification in Medical Oncology and Hematology is encouraged but not required. Board-certification in Internal Medicine is required if not board certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology by start date.
Evidence of expertise in the care of patients with multiple myeloma and plasma cell dyscrasias is required.
The successful candidate will pass a background check and pre-employment health/drug screening.
