The Sterile Processing Tech (SPD) is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, and equipment dispensed by the department following established Infection Control Practices.
- Must be conscientious with regard to procedures, and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital.
- Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties.
- Participate in the department?s performance improvement activities.
Shifts: 8 hour shifts, variable start times
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician or Surgical Tech (preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment used by the department (required)
- Knowledgeable with cleaning and sterilization procedures and techniques (required).
